How foldable boards are made

There’s something special about how things are made, and we love sharing it with you! In this video, we’re taking you inside our factory to show how foldable boards are made. That beautiful combination of printed paper and cardboard creates the perfect playground for your game to come to life.

Curious to see how the magic happens? Watch the video!

In the video, you’ll see all the steps involved in creating the perfect foldable board. The process begins like most other printed components we produce—using offset printing and high-quality water-based eco-inks, we print the sheets according to the foldable board’s specifications.

Next, both the cardboard and the printed sheets are cut to their designated size. To protect the surface and reduce wear over time, we always recommend laminating the printed side.

Now it’s time for the magic—bonding the printed sheet to the cardboard. For this, we use plant-based glue, one of the many eco-friendly materials our company is proud to use.

Depending on your needs, the board can be printed on both sides, or you can opt for a high-quality protective paper for the back.

Finally, we move on to the second and final cutting stage, where the board is precision-cut to allow it to fold into the desired size. And that’s it! Now your foldable board is ready to fit perfectly into your tabletop game box.

UKCA MARKINGS UPDATE

ukca black fill 1

The UKCA marking will become mandatory for most goods which previously used the CE markings if they are first placed on the market in Great Britain after 31 December 2022

The UK Government wants to make it easier for businesses to comply with the changes, so we will introduce four measures to further support businesses adopting UKCA.

These measures are as follows:

1. Government will reduce re-testing costs for UKCA certification by allowing certificates provided by EU (European Union) conformity assessment bodies (CABs) issued before the end of this year to be used as a basis for UKCA marking certification (including a specific arrangement for construction products, via the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities). This will prevent duplication and immediately increased costs for businesses. Resuming, CE testing can also be converted to UKCA testing which means lower costs,

2. Government will make clear there is no need to re-test existing imported stock, as these products will be considered already placed on the Great Britain (GB) market. This will prevent the costly and unnecessary re-labelling of existing stock for businesses.

3. Government will make clear that spare parts that repair or replace goods already on the GB market can meet the same requirements as the goods that they repair or replace. This will allow products and goods requiring spare parts to continue to be maintained.

4. Government will allow the UKCA marking and importer details to be added to products using a sticky label or on an accompanying document until 31 December 2025. This will allow business to adjust their product design to accommodate marking changes at a convenient and cost-effective time.

The UK Government also intends to lay secondary legislation before the end of the calendar year to give effect to the changes for labelling and testing.
